iTour Launches Historic Triangle App on July 4

In light of recent success with the Historic Williamsburg digital tour, iTourMobile will launch a comprehensive Historic Triangle Mobile Application for iOS and Android planned for release by July 4, 2014. The application will feature more than 200 locations and 6 hours of audio and video across the historic points of interest in Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, making this project the region’s largest and most inclusive interactive technology project.

The finished product will also feature a listing of local city business attractions, restaurants, and retail, feature hotel listings, and other interactive experiences for visitors to enjoy. iTourMobile has invited the City of Williamsburg and The Counties of Yorktown and James City; the York Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance; The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, and Colonial Williamsburg to participate in sponsoring and marketing the application to the public, and to play a role in shaping its content for continued use and new experiences that they control and may offer to their visitors.

Users simply have to walk to a point of interest or click on it in the app to listen to a carefully narrated story of one of the many locations features. The locations are already mapped out, and writing and voice actor work will be complete by the end of May. The finished product will be perfect for visitors and locals to use both on location and remotely.

Members of the public and media are invited to attend an opening event on June 28 in front of the William and Mary bookstore on Duke of Gloucester Street at 1PM. The experience will also be available on Google Glass, which will be made available to attendees. RSVPs must be made to
